I received a warm reception at Noir City 2 in Chicago on 13-16 August with sweltering temperatures outside and enthusiatic film noir fans inside the venerable Music Box Theatre.  My sincerest thanks to Brian Andreotti and the superb staff at the Music Box for putting out the welcome mat in grand fashion! Chi-Town is truly the City of Broad Shoulders!

Found! The holy grail of film noir, New York Confidential (1955) has hit the street in DVD, courtesy of Kit Parker Films and VCI Entertainment. In addition to a primo-restoration of a previously "lost" film, there is a narrative commentary with the fabulous Kim Morgan and yours truly.

Don't miss this wonderful recollection by legendary star Kirk Douglas discussing his film debut in The Strange Love of Martha Ivers (1946). This special feature was a production of the Palm Springs Cultural Center and was screened at our May 2010 festival. It was a thrill to meet with Kirk and film his rememberance.
